Frenship Students Receive Special Holiday Surprise Through Santa Cops

The annual Santa Cops event has been a favorite tradition for local law enforcement for more than a decade as they team up with a child in Big Brothers Big Sisters, several of them from Frenship.

Kicking off the event bright and early, the officers pick up the children in their patrol vehicles and travel in convoys with lights and sirens to each special stop. This year’s event included breakfast with Santa, shopping for clothes and gifts, down time to play at 4ORE! Golf, and Christmas story time with hot chocolate and cookies. To wrap up the day, each child received a surprise gift – a bike!

“Santa Cops truly encompasses what Big Brothers Big Sisters is all about, friendship, joy, and community,” said Debra Gonzales, Big Brothers Big Sisters Director of Enrollment.

Thank you to the many generous community partners, sponsors, local businesses, Lubbock Police Department, and Big Brothers Big Sisters for providing a fun, safe, and memorable event for local children this holiday season.
