Frenship Elementary Student Councils Participate in Leadership Training

Seven out of the eight Frenship elementary schools participated in the “Leaders ‘R Us” Workshop sponsored by the Texas Elementary Principals and Supervisors Association.

The purpose of Wednesday’s training was to teach leadership skills, the importance of being a good leader, the difference between effective and ineffective leaders and the roll of leaders in schools and society. Students practiced these skills through hands on activities, interactive sessions and a much meeting.

During the workshop, Willow Bend Elementary Student Council was recognized for receiving the TEPSA Student Leadership Award. Read more about Willow Bend Student Council and their award here.

Students were excited to learn and grow in their roles as leaders. “We learned that being a leader really means helping others in need,” reported 5th grader Owen Demaray.
