Dr. LeAnn Fisher Ed.D has been named the district’s Director of Assessment and Accountability, and Jennifer Pierce has been named principal of Willow Bend Elementary.

The FISD Board of Trustees unanimously accepted the recommendation of Roy Bassett, a 32-year law enforcement veteran with the Lubbock Police Department, as the district’s new chief of police.

Elementary students across the district developed their coding skills during Computer Science Education Week

Our “Inside the Classroom” feature this week steps out into the hallway. Students in Melanie Morrison’s fourth grade class have been learning about different types of energy, so they worked with potential and mechanical energy to create roller cars.

This year, students in the Gifted and Talented Program at Frenship ISD are embarking on a year-long study of structures.
