My name is Kinley Horne, and I am thrilled to serve as the Attendance Clerk at Oak Ridge. I recently graduated from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor of Arts in University Studies with concentrations in Studio Art, English, and Family Life Studies. While my long-term goal is to become a certified teacher in EC–12 Art and 4–8 English, I am so grateful for this opportunity to begin my career in education here at Oak Ridge.
I bring experience working with students across all grade levels. I subbed in the district for four years and this past summer had the privilege of teaching my own art class at the Guadalupe Parkway Sommerville Centers for students ages 5–15. Having a classroom of my own was such a rewarding experience and confirmed my passion for teaching. In addition, I am actively involved at my church as a student leader for 6th–12th graders and participate in the young adult ministry.
My heart is to make a lasting impact on students by building connections, being a safe and supportive presence, and helping them learn in a way that makes them feel comfortable and confident. I feel incredibly blessed to be part of the Oak Ridge family and to work alongside such a wonderful team.
